Per the article below:
Base/Z51: 6.2L LT2: 495 hp
Grand Sport : 6.2L LT2 + hybrid: 600 hp
Z06: NA DOHC flat plane crank (maybe 5.5L): 650 hp
ZR1: Supercharged DOHC flat plane crank (maybe 5.5L) 8 50 hp
Zora : Supercharged DOHC flat plane crank (maybe 5.5L) + hybrid: 1000 hp
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Sounds amazing to me, Z06 needs a stick tho.

So after all the debate over whether or not the (then-upcoming) rear-mid-engine car should be named “Corvette”, NOW Chevy shows a willingness to use the Zora name.

I think the reason is because Zora was the one who wanted the mid engine layout. So now that they have it, it makes to pay homage.

I’m curious to see what the price of the Zora will be.
My guess is touching or slightly under $200,000 with options.
The normal one is already selling for around 100k loaded.......

I’d guess $160-180 k. GM economies of scale should help.

So I’m a big Corvette fan and these specs look awesome, the car will be even more of a giant killer than the last one , but I cant help but feel like I’d be more impressed if one of those options was a lower tier, < 400hp, manual trans trim level that’s <$50k

Shove an ecotec-4 in it and call it a Fiero.

I get a feeling the Zora is a sendoff halo car. Where do they go from there? Gas-engine Corvettes can’t exist forever, and you don’t beat blown 1000hp hybrid supercars unless you go full electric . Maybe I’m being pessimistic given the times we’re going through and generational shifts in the car world , but that’s what comes to mind.

ZR1: Twin-Turbocharged DOHC flat plane crank (maybe 5.5L) 850 hp
Zora : Twin-Turbocharged DOHC flat plane crank (maybe 5.5L) + hybrid: 1000 hp

Anything is possible but the reason they chose not to develop a stick was because there were so few C7’s ordered with that configuration. The lack of interest didn’t warrant the $$$ in developing a manual on this platform. When you combine the rave reviews the duel clutch tranny is getting I think GM would have to hear a lot of noise coming from the consumers to bring back the stick.

I don’t think the ICE is going anywhere anytime soon. The push for electric is very political, by the time a hard core Green Party member is POTUS & you take into account that these things must be phased in slowly I think the C8 & C9 will still offer ICE with electrical/hybrid options of course.
